Offense

3 out, 2 in alignment to begin. #1 enters to either wing. Here #1 enters to #2 on the right wing and then downscreens for #5 on the opposite low block. #5 breaks to the top of the key off of the downscreen from #1. |
#2 reverses the ball to #5 on top while #3 on the left wing is downscreening for #1. This is good "screen the screener" action as #1 just completed the downscreen for #5. After #3 downscreens for #1, he may open up and look to post quickly in the lane. #5 will deliver the ball inside if #3 is open. If #5 does not have an open shot or a pass inside, he reverses the ball to #1 on the left wing. |
If #1 is not open for a shot, he reverses the ball to #4 on top, who is coming off the downscreen from #5. |
If #4 does not have a shot, he will look inside to #2 posting up after downscreening for #5. If #4 does not pass inside to #2, he reverses the ball to #5 on the right wing who is coming off the downscreen from #2. Again, this is good "screen the screener" action as #5 had just set a downscreen for #4. |
If #5 does not have a shot on the right wing, he passes the ball to the top as #4 has just set a downscreen for #3. As #3 is catching the ball on top, #1 is setting a downscreen for #4, creating yet another "screen the screener" action. |
If #3 does not have a shot, he will look briefly inside to #1 posting up after the downscreen on #4. If their is no post pass to #1, he reverses the ball to #4 coming off the downscreen on the left wing and then #3, after passing to #4, sets his downscreen in the lane for #2. |
#4 continues the continuity by reversing the ball to #2 on top. If #2 does not have a shot, he then quickly reverses the ball to #5 on the right wing. As in past diagrams, #2 downscreens for #1 after passing to #5. |
If #5 does not get a shot off the downscreen on the right wing, he then reverses the ball to #1 on top who reverses the ball to #2 on the left wing coming off the downscreen from #4. As in past diagrams, #1 after passing to #2, sets a downscreen for #3 in the lane. |
