| Set Play vs. Zone Defense This is very effective against one guard front zones like the 1-2-2 or a 1-3-1 zone. #4 will screen the point of the zone defense adn #1 will dribble off of him. #4 will pop back to give us a two man front. #5 will flash into the middle as #1 looks to shoot or pass to #3 or #4. Shown is the #1 pass to #3 in the opposite corner. |
2 Set Play vs. Zone Defense Same action as frame 1, except #1 chooses to pass to #4 popping back after screening for #1. #5 can screen X5 or flash into the middle of the zone. We are now in the seams of any one man front zone. |
3 Set Play vs. Zone Defense #4 decides not to shoot and passes to #3 in the corner. #5 screens X5 and #3 should get a great look at the basket. #5 will follow the ball as #1, #2, #3, and #4 stay in their spots and look to shoot or drive. |
4 Set Play vs. Zone Defense Now we have #3 reversing the ball to #4 who passes to #1 who passes to #2 in the right corner. #5 will be following the basketball and we will try to get it to him inside if he is open. |
