As soon as #4 comes off #2's screen, #3 is "picking the picker" and setting a screen for #2. #2 comes off the screen looking for the open jumper in the right wing / corner area. #3 flashes to the ball after #2 comes off the screen just in case his man steps out to help on the screening action. #1 moves to the top for floor balance and transition defense. |

The other option on this play, again keyed by what #4 does, is for #4 to not back out but screen across for #2. #3 continues his movement into the lane and #2 now gets a double staggered screen from #4 and #3, trying to get open for a shot in the right corner / wing area. #4 and #3 both step to the ball after #2 comes off the screen just in case their defender helps on the screening action. Again, #1 is back on top for floor balance and transition defense. |
