1
Rayyan (set play vs. man defense)
Another 1 - 4 high alignment to begin. You ideally would like to have your best post player on the left free throw line elbow (#4 in this diagram). #1 has the option to pass to either post player (#4 or #5). Let's first look at what happens when he passes to the right high post player #5. After passing to #5, #1 cuts down the middle of the lane as if to be cutting through the lane. When he just gets by #4 he quickly turns back and sets a back screen for #4 who rolls over the top of the screen and into the paint looking for the post entry pass from #5. |

2
Rayyan (set play vs. man defense)
We are trying to create a mismatch on this play. If #4 is not open right away it may be because they have switched defenders on the play. This would give you a nice mismatch as a point guard is screening for your post player. #1 should break to an open area either high or low if they try and double team the cutter #4. |

3
Rayyan (set play vs. man defense)
If #1 passes to #4, #5 would dive to the basket looking for the quick hitter over the top of the defense. #1 would continue his cut into the middle of the lane. |

4
Rayyan (set play vs. man defense)
As #1 gets by #4, he turns quickly back and sets a back ball screen for #4. #4 drives the ball hard over the screen looking to score or drive and kick out to #2 if his defender helps in on the drive. #1 again would step out if both defenders decided to trap the dribbler #4. |
